3 Natural Ways to Clean Your Junk Food Diet

When you eat clean, all of your body’s systems function better. Essentially, you are giving your cells, muscles, and organs everything they need (vitamins, minerals, and a variety of other nutrients) and nothing they don’t (pesticides, chemicals, and a whole host of unnatural substances). This not only results in a lower weight, but also in improved health—two things that can make you feel younger and more energetic than ever.

The question is, how do you clean your junk food diet without resorting to unhealthy and sometimes harmful options? Fortunately, there are three very effective all-natural options that provide safe and healthy alternatives.

#1: Choose Organic

This one doesn’t even require that you change the foods you eat, it just means that you choose organic options if they are available. This protects you from taking in a whole host of chemicals that are now referred to as “obesogens” since they impact your ability to lose weight by negatively affecting your endocrine system, ultimately decreasing your metabolism and increasing your body’s desire to hold on to fat.

#2: Think Unprocessed

The more a food is processed, the more unhealthy substances it likely contains. Therefore, you’re much better off eating things that are as close to their natural source as possible. Don’t worry as you can still have a junk food experience with good, healthy foods. For instance, if you have a craving for crisps, just bake some kale with a little bit of olive oil and sea salt for a salty treat that crunches, making you feel less deprived, yet healthier in the process.

#3: Cut Out Sugar

Here is the good thing about sugar: the less you eat of it, the less you crave it. Besides, if you want something sweet, fruit is always a great option. For example, you can sprinkle an apple with cinnamon, place it in the microwave for 15 seconds and it is like having warm apple pie.

When it comes to eating clean, you have a few options that won’t make you feel as if you can’t enjoy the eating experience. What tips and tricks do you use to eat clean, yet have fun too?
