3 Often Forgotten Gym Workout Essentials

gym essentials

When you go to the gym, what do you take with you? A towel to dry off the sweat? An extra pair of running shoes in case yours give out? While these are both great items to stash in your gym bag, there are three more that are essential (and often forgotten) if you want to meet and even exceed your fitness goals.

They are:

A Note Pad

If you’re serious about progressing your fitness levels, you need to keep track of where you are right now. That is the only way you will know if what you are doing is working or if anything needs to change.

So, instead of standing there and trying to remember what you did last time you worked out and how it felt, you will be able to simply open your note pad and take a look. Plus, it is motivating to see where you started and how far you’ve come in your journey.

A Water Bottle

This is probably one of the most forgotten gym essentials, yet it is one of the most important. If you don’t properly hydrate your body and your muscles, you’ll fatigue more easily and possibly even cramp up, making it near impossible to complete your fitness routine.

Take your water bottle with you so you don’t have to either run to the drinking fountain every time you are thirsty or wait until you’re done with your cardio to rehydrate your body. Add a little mint to it for a boost to your taste buds and your mood.

A Watch

One of the best ways to improve yourself physically is to try to hone down your time and complete your workout faster. This is partly why having a watch is so important to your exercise routine.

Additionally, you want to ensure that you’re taking proper rest breaks between your strength training sets, so having a watch can help with that goal. Simply set it for 30-90 seconds and give your body a chance to recuperate before doing another set.

Put these three items in your gym bag and you’ll have exactly what you need to make your workout regimen the best that it can be!
