How to Find a Challenge Best Suited For You

How to Find a Challenge Best Suited For You

Whether you’re simply bored with your current fitness routine or just want to see how far you can push your body (both mentally and physically), taking on a challenge may be the answer you are looking for. There are several types from which to choose, so how do you find the one best suited for you?

Follow these five steps:

Step #1: Study the course. Look up the courses that particular challenge involves and see what obstacles they offer. You’ll want to choose one that is going to be tough to complete, but not so tough that you risk seriously hurting yourself.

Step #2: Go over the training requirements. A lot of challenges give training tips to help you compete at your best on the day of the challenge. Be sure to review them so you know whether you have the time to adequately prepare yourself for that course. If you don’t, you may want to pick something else.

Step #3: Review past participant’s comments. Most challenges have been around for years, so you can find out a lot of information just by reviewing what others wrote about them. In the end, you have to make up your own mind, but you’ll be able to make a wiser decision if you know what others thought about that particular challenge.

Step #4: Talk to your doctor. Once you’ve found a challenge that interests you and that you can see yourself competing in, you’ll want to get your doctor’s approval. That way, you’ll know that you’ve got the green light to participate with minimal risk to your health.

Step #5: Ask a personal trainer. The final step to choosing a challenge best suited for you is to consult with a personal trainer. This person can test you to determine if you have what it takes to compete, and they can also create a routine that can get you there if you’re not ready.

Fitness challenges are taxing, but they are also very rewarding once you’ve made it through them successfully. Follow these five steps and that is exactly what you will do!
