10 Reasons to Eat More Eggs

When it comes to eating for health, it is best to choose foods that offer a number of benefits versus consuming foods that only do one positive thing for you. Eggs are the former, so here are 10 reasons you should include them in your diet often:

#1: They are high in protein. One large egg has roughly 6 grams of protein, which makes it essential to building your muscles and helping them recover from an intense exercise session.

#2: They won’t raise your blood cholesterol. This is perhaps the biggest reason that people avoid eggs, but studies have now shown that they don’t raise your blood cholesterol like researchers once thought.

#3: They are filling. When you start your day with a breakfast that includes eggs, you will avoid the mid-morning cravings that threaten to derail your healthy eating program before lunch even arrives.

#4: They travel well. If you need a snack that is easy to take almost anywhere, just hard boil and egg and it is ready to go!

#5: They are inexpensive. How many other foods can you buy that cost you just a few cents or pence each?

#6: They are low in carbs. If you are watching your carbohydrate intake, then eggs are the way to go since each one contains only 0.6 grams of carbs.

#7: They are high in vitamin B. Vitamin B is necessary for energy and eggs contain 10 percent of your recommended daily allowance of B-12, 7 percentof your B-5, and 15 percent of your B-2 requirements.

#8: They are good for your eyes. Eggs contain antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin which have been found to promote eye health.

#9: They stabilize your blood sugar. Because eggs aren’t overly high in carbs, they help to stabilize your blood sugar which reduces your cravings and also stabilizes your moods.

#10: You can get them anywhere. No matter where you are in the world, you likely have access to eggs, making them readily available regardless of where you are living or travelling.
