Blood Type Diet

Eating According to Your Blood Type

When we talk about diet, we often associate it with choosing the right kinds and amount of food, preferably fruits and vegetables which are rich in fiber and other nutrients that are mainly needed by the body. Along with the proper selection of food is a daily exercise necessary to burn all the foods that you have consumed as well as to stretch those body parts. A new type of diet which might not ring a bell to everybody is known as “Blood Type Diet”. This might somehow be new to our ears, but it may also give suggestions regarding on the most efficient food groups to be prepared for a healthy diet.

Blood Type diet was first introduced in the book entitled Eat Right for Your Type: The Individualized Diet Solution to Staying Healthy, Living Longer & Achieving Your Ideal Weight, which is written by Peter J. D’Adamo, ND. He believes that specific blood types (Blood types O, A, B and AB) have specific healthy food groups that are considered compatible to that certain blood type, which in turn could result in a healthier body that everyone is aiming for.

  • Blood Type O

Also known as the “universal blood type”, a low-carbohydrate diet and rich in proteins such as meat, poultry and fish are advised. Consumption of dairy products must also be taken moderately. Exercise must also be maintained for this blood type.

  • Blood Type A

D’Adamo prescribes organic vegetables and a diet which contains more soy proteins and low intake of dairy products for this blood type. Gentle exercise is also suggested.

  • Blood Type B

Blood Type B diet includes vegetables, meat and a low consumption of dairy products. However, grains, corn, wheat and other types of it should be avoided. Moderate exercise is also needed.

  • Blood Type AB

For blood type AB, some combined prescriptions for blood types A and B can be a great choice for your diet. Chicken, pork and beef must be taken moderately and should include more seafoods.

This diet is not only beneficial to those aspiring to decrease weight and stay fit but as well as to people who have been worried about being underweight. Usually, people who are underweight claim that they have been trying all their might to gain weight but there is just no change in their body for reasons that they themselves could not explain. The answer to this dilemma might be provided by this blood type diet.
