Best Ways to Relax and Burn Calories at the Same Time

In today’s age, multi-tasking is a must. We have to get more done in even less time, which often requires that we do two (or more) things at once. Well, how about relaxing at the same time as burning calories? Sound impossible? It isn’t.

The thing about relaxing is that it doesn’t mean that you have to stay sedentary, like lying on the couch while watching TV or sitting in a chair on the beach with your favorite beverage in hand. While those will both soothe your soul, they’re not going to help you lose weight and get in shape.

On the same token, if you focus on burning calories every waking moment, you’re not going to take the time to relax. This keeps your stress levels elevated and doesn’t give your system enough down time to rejuvenate—something that is necessary for optimal health.

The key is to come up with ways that you like to relax that will burn calories at the same time. Fortunately, there are tons of options; it just depends on what activities you like to do.

Some to consider include going skiing (water or snow), hiking, and even doing yard work. Some people find it relaxing to clean the house and others feel better after a game of ball with their kids. There is no right or wrong answers here as it is just personal preference.

So, sit down right now and think about the physical activities you enjoy doing that bring you peace. Once you have a list, implement at least one per week. This will help keep you healthy inside and out, allowing you to let off stress while still meeting your health and fitness goals.

What are the ways in which you like to relax that burn calories at the same time?
