If you’re like most people, you have limited time to spend at the gym. Your goal is to get in, get fit and get out so that you can take care of all of your other obligations and still have a little time to do a few things you enjoy.
Therefore, you need to make your time there count and here are three ways that you can do that:
Keep social time to a minimum. Whether you go to the gym with a pal or have created friendships with other gym goers, you need to remember that your purpose in being there is to get fit and healthy. Keep your social time to a minimum to achieve that goal and, if you want to chat more, set up a coffee date or catch up while walking the track.
Enlist the help of a trainer. If you’re unsure how to structure your workouts or which strength training equipment will help you reach your fitness goals, it may be worth it to hire a personal trainer for a session or two. He or she will be able to tell you how to get the best results from the equipment that particular gym offers.
Try interval training. A lot of times, you see people jump on a treadmill or elliptical and do the same speed and intensity during the entire course of their workout. However, if you want to kick your workout up a notch or two and get more from it, interval training will do that for you. To do it, alternate between hard and easy intensities in your exercise session and you’ll burn more calories and get more fit quicker.
Working out at the gym is a great way to stay in shape and keep your body healthy. What do you do that keeps your gym time so that it produces positive results?
