Healthy Ways to Get Your Necessary Vitamins and Minerals

When it comes to total body wellness, it is imperative that your body receive the necessary vitamins and minerals it needs to function. So what are the healthiest and most effective ways to get them into your body?

Here are a few options:

  • Take supplements. Perhaps the most widely suggested option of getting all the nutrients you need to allow your body to thrive, taking a vitamin and mineral enhanced pill is one of the easiest ways to get your recommended daily allowance (RDA) of the ingredients that will enhance your health. Choose options that contain 100% of the RDA as anything over that amount is usually unnecessary.

  • Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Not only are these two food groups good for you because they are low in fat and high in fiber, but fruits and veggies also contain a high amount of nutrients. To get them all, you’ll want to eat a variety of these types of foods, choosing options from each color group (purples, greens, reds, oranges, and blues).

  • Enjoy a little bit of sunshine. When you spend 15 minutes a day in direct sunlight, your body gets more vitamin D, a mineral often associated with strong bones and a positive outlook on life. Don’t worry about wearing sunscreen as that can inhibit your D intake and as long as you keep your time limited, you won’t risk any of the negative effects of too many damaging sun rays.

  • Use vitamin enhanced skin lotions and oils. Whatever you put on your skin is soaked into your body, increasing your levels of the nutrients the products contain. Choose moisturizers that have vitamins E and A, and regularly use oils that contain all-natural ingredients like sandalwood and rose to enjoy health from the outside in.

Try these four suggestions and you’ll be sure to get the vitamins and minerals your body needs to function efficiently.  Health is just a few actions away – and now you know which ones!
