Imagine getting out of bed and having your calorie burning potential double, if not triple. Sound impossible? It’s not. At least, not as long as you get your metabolism going not long after you awake.

Metabolism Booster #1: Drink a Smoothie

If you haven’t eaten since dinner, your tummy has been empty for around 12 hours by the time you wake up which means that you’re like a car out of fuel. Fill your tank with premium petro by drinking a smoothie that is loaded with protein. Stop at any gym that makes them and get your engine running or you can even make your own!

Metabolism Booster #2: Exercise

Although it may be tempting to just roll over and go back to sleep when your alarm goes off, getting up and getting active is one way to kick your calorie burn into overdrive. Do a few press ups or go for a run. It doesn’t really matter what you do as long as you get out there and at least do something!

Metabolism Booster #3: Stretch

This one is good news for those of you that read the last suggestion and your eyes rolled back into your head. Fortunately, you don’t always have to kick it into high gear when you’re first out of bed as some light stretching to loosen up your muscles and soft tissues will help boost your metabolism too.
