Pea Protein vs Hemp Protein: How to Choose Between Them

Protein is essential for a healthy body. It helps build muscles, maintain energy, and more. Protein is also a good source of fibre which helps to keep you regular, healthy, and full of energy. When choosing a protein supplement, it can be difficult to decide between pea and hemp. Pea protein is usually less expensive than hemp, but there are many benefits to hemp protein. In this blog, I will be explaining the similarities and differences between pea protein and hemp protein and will be giving you some tips on how to choose the protein supplement that is perfect for you.

Pea vs Hemp

The first step to finding the right type of protein for you is to decide what your goals are. Are you looking for a protein that will help you with your muscle gain, or are you looking for a protein that will help you with your energy levels? It is important to know what you are looking for in a protein before you can make an informed decision about which one to choose. Once you know what you are looking for, it is then time to start exploring your options. For example, if you are looking for a protein that will help you with your energy levels, you should consider pea protein. Pea protein is a plant-based protein that is high in protein and low in carbs. It is also a good option if you are looking for a protein that will help you with your muscle gain. If you are looking for something that will help you with your muscle gain, you should consider hemp protein. Hemp protein is a highly digestible protein that is also high in protein and low in carbs. It is also a good option if you are looking for a protein that will help you with your energy levels.

Pea Protein vs Hemp Protein

Pea protein is a type of protein that is extracted from split peas. It has a low fat content and a high level of protein. The protein is highly digestible and is typically a good protein source for vegetarians and vegans.

Hemp protein is a type of protein that is extracted from hemp seeds. It is a complete protein and is rich in omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids.

Both are a good protein source for vegetarians and vegans. So which is the best protein to use? It really comes down to preference. If you are looking for a high-quality protein, hemp protein is the way to go. If you are looking for a low-quality protein, pea protein is the way to go.

Taste and mixing

Pea protein is used in a of vegan based foods, as the taste is not very powerful, it mixes well with other ingredients like in smoothies and has a more pleasant taste than hemp.

Hemp protein has a strong unique flavour that some people like it and like marmite some people aren’t that found. When you mix hemp protein the mix tends to be more grainy and doesn’t mix as smoothly as pea protein.

Protein content

Pea protein also has more protein content normally giving 24 grams of protein for each 30 gram serving, also is a great source nutrients including fibre, vitamin B6 and iron

Hemp protein has les protein content delivering 15 grams of protein for every 30 gram serving, but Contains every amino acid that your body needs to maintain muscle.

How to choose a protein supplement

Protein is a staple in any diet and is an important component in muscle growth and repair. There are many different types of protein supplements available, but which one is best for you?

My conclusion is that I would choose pea protein for purely the reason it tastes better and it has more protein content at 24 grams per 30 grams serving this is nearly 30% more protein content, making this my ideal selection for protein on a vegan diet.
