How to Reduce Cellulite with Exercise

Do you want to look at your butt and thighs and see nothing but smooth, taut skin? Wouldn’t it be great to feel confident with barely-there clothing because you know that your cellulite has pulled an Elvis and “left the building”?

It is estimated that 80-95% of people (mainly women) struggle with cellulite, so at least you know that you’re not alone. But, that doesn’t mean that you have to live with dimples in your backside just because a lot of other people do.

There are specific exercises you can do that can help you minimize the effects of these connective tissues that look like honey-combs. They include:

Cardio. It doesn’t matter what you do to get your heart rate going (whether it’s walking, jogging, biking, etc.), just do something. The more calories you burn, the less fat you’ll store; and, the less fat you store, the less obvious cellulite is. Aim for 30 minutes most days of the week. That will give you an exercise routine that is effective, but won’t take hours out of your daily schedule.

Squats. Work your buttocks and upper thighs by performing squats 2-3 times a week. Remember to keep proper form so that you isolate the muscles you want to build and don’t injure yourself. The stronger they become, the more they’ll reduce the look of your cellulite.

Lunges. Another great lower body exercise to perform 2-3 times a week is the lunge. It also works your butt, but the focus moves from the front of your upper thighs to the back of them (also known as the hamstrings) – a problem cellulite area for a lot of people. Again, just like with the squats, you want to use proper lunge form for maximum results and minimum injuries.

Stretches. To keep your body looking taut and tone (and cellulite free), you’ll also want to do stretches regularly. Aim for full body stretching as well as performing flexibility exercises for areas of muscles that you worked on that specific day.

While you can’t get rid of cellulite, you can diminish its appearance. Try adding these four things to your daily routine and enjoy the view of your new backside. You won’t be disappointed.
