Healthy strawberry smoothie.
Smoothies are an after workout must, helping your muscles grow and replenish faster. Keeping all the gains from your hard session effort. Smoothies can be an ideal lunch or breakfast option, amazing before and after long distance workouts.
The preparation time is minimal, just like making yourself a bowl of corn flakes in the morning the process is easy to follow.
The ingredients are easy to find and not to expensive, the recipe given for one servings .
- 1 Banana
- 8 Large frozen or fresh strawberries
- 1 Table Spoon honey,
- 50 ml milk (normal or soya)
- 200ml natural yogurt
Method
- First rinse all fruit, peel the banana and slice into large pieces.
- Place all ingredients into large jug and into blend until smooth.
- Place into glass and serve.
It’s normally better to drink the smoothie within 10 minutes of making as most of the nutrients are fresh. If you leave longer the mixture of ingredients will normally absorb each other, leaving you with less minerals and goodness.
I like to use frozen fruit for a cool refreshing smoothie. Often when shopping I keep an eye out for discounted fresh berries, these are ideal for your smoothies.
