Vegetable burger recipe

Vegetable burgers are easy to make and they have more that 90% less saturated fat than a normal beef burger, plus you get twice more protein from the bean mixture. You can add cheese to this recipe if needed.

Ingredients

 

  •       300g kidney  beans
  •       200g cannelloni beans
  •      1 Onion fine diced
  •      1 tbsp Mustard
  •      1 tbsp tomato puree
  •      1 tsp soy sauce
  •      3 drops Tabasco
  •      1 tsp cumin seeds
  •      Hand full Breadcrumbs
  •      2 eggs (free range)
  •      Seasoning, salt, pepper and mixed herbs.(pinch of each)

Method

 

 

1. Place kidney and cannelloni beans mince together into a bowl , use a masher or blender

 

2.Add chopped onion, mustard, tomato puree, soy and tabasco

 

3. Then add one egg and then breadcrumbs with seasoning, first test the mix and dry fry a little of the mix, taste and then fix if needed.

 

4. Shape into burgers by hand and fry in a little vegetable oil  sauce pan , for 2 minutes either side, then place in tray and pop into oven to finish cooking 180 c for 10 minutes.
