Menopause at fifty

The average age for the onset menopause is at the age of 51. During the menopause the body produces less oestrogen, which can cause the loss of bone density.  This is why its important to start with resistance training early into your forties, the more workouts and exercise you follow increases your bone density and will combat against osteoporosis later in life.

For some women hormonal changes can trigger weight gain during the menopause, given that the metabolic rate continues to slow with age unless you speed it up with regular exercise, menopause weight gain can be difficult to lose.

Resistance bands are perfect for bone density increase, a regular resistance band fitness routine can give you great results and help us as we grow old.
