Many people would benefit from eating less red meat, as red meat contains high portions of saturated fat. Beef and pork have at least five times more fat than turkey. But the meat that holds the most fat overall is lamb, lamb has nine times more fat than turkey nearly double the fat serving from beef or pork.

Saturated fat is highly visible as it is solid at room temperature. If consuming try to remove excess fat from meat.

The good essentails that red meat hold are valuable nutrients such as iron, zinc, protein and vitamin B12. Try to eat game meat when possible as most game meat contains less than half the fat found in pork.
