Ingredients
- 1,500 g plain flour
- 100 g baking powder
- 500 g grated cheese
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp pepper
Method
- In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients together (flour, baking powder, cheese, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper) until a light biscuit-like mixture is achieved. Be careful not to overwork the mixture.
- Add 1.6 litres of cream to the mixture and gently mix until everything just binds together.
- Transfer the dough onto a work surface, press it down evenly, and cut into squares measuring 2 inches in depth and 4 inches on each side.
- Place the squares onto a greased baking tray.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 176°C for 2 minutes to achieve a rise.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 155°C and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and allow the biscuits to cool on the tray.
