Tofu is the one of the best sources of protein foods for vegans. Reason being with more than 100% of RDA manganese, tofu is a super rich nutrient that also contains all essential amino acids making it a complete source of protein . Tofu is one of the best protein foods as it has ultra low fat content and is completely natural. One half-cup (125g) serving of tofu contains at least 10.1 grams of protein making it one of the vegan protein superfoods.
Recipe for Braising tofu
- 1/4 Cup soy sauce
- 300g Fresh Tofu
- 2 Crushed Garlic cloves
- 1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
Method
- Heat oil on medium heat in a large pan, add garlic when hot.
- Cook for 1 minute allowing garlic to infuse with oil, when turning light brown add the soy sauce.
- Mix the sauce and garlic together then add the tofu. Cook for 3 minutes on both sides , remove and allow to cool.

Fresh tofu 400g
Fresh mixed vegetable sliced your choice ,I used
- Onions
- Peppers
- Spring onions
- mushrooms
- Green beans
2 x Packs of cooked vegetable rice 400g
Seasoning / soy sauce
