Tissue damage, also known as soft tissue injuries, can turn out to be extremely painful. It is actually the damage to tendons, ligaments, or muscles in our body. It can be caused by a sprain, strain, or if from the use of a certain part of the body more than its limit. The symptoms for tissue damage can be extreme pain, swelling, bruising, or inability to use the affected body part.

Moreover, this is common in athletes. However, the good news is that it can be repaired with the use of supplements. So, what are these supplements? Let us find out in the article below.

Proteins

The body tissues themselves are made of proteins, hence it is obvious that you would require a protein supplement to repair it. The tendons and ligaments also contain protein as a major component, so, it can reverse the damage in these too. Proteins contain amino acids that act as the basis for the creation of new muscle fibers. Thus, increasing the intake of proteins helps in faster healing of the tissues. Some foods that are rich in proteins are almonds, oats, lentils, and pulses.

Magnesium

Magnesium plays a role in keeping our bones healthy, and strong. Further, it also helps in the synthesis of new proteins that can fasten the healing of the tissues. Hence, taking magnesium in higher amounts can help the tissue to rebuild quickly. Foods that include magnesium are dark chocolate, spinach, fids, and pumpkin seeds.

Vitamin C

It is needed for the production of collagen and repair of worn-out ligaments. It has a direct part in the repair and growth of tissues, no matter in what part of the body it is located. In addition, Vitamin C also helps in the healing of bones. For tissue damage, this vitamin reduces inflammation and boosts the repairing process. Orange, kiwis, strawberries, and papaya are some foods rich in Vitamin C.

Omega-3 fatty acids

Their function is to increase the production of collagen. Also, they reduce inflammation in damaged tissues. They do this by decreasing the formation of cytokines and inflammatory eicosanoids, molecules that enable inflammation in tissues. So, the foods that have high omega-3 content are chia seeds, soybeans, and walnuts.

Zinc

Zinc is found in every single tissue and muscle of our body. Therefore, it plays a crucial role in the repair of tissue damage. Zinc supports the metabolism of proteins which are needed necessarily by the body to repair the affected tissue. In addition to this, zinc also reduces the intensity of inflammation in the damaged part. Spinach, mushrooms, cocoa powder, and cashews are some dietary foods that contain high levels of zinc.

Proteolytic enzymes

These enzymes can also help in the reduction of inflammation that is caused by damaged tissues.

Vitamin A

One more nutrient that can help you in reducing the excruciating pain caused by soft tissue injury. Vitamin A reduces the intensity of inflammatory process, thus lessening the discomfort. In addition, it increases the speed of the recovery process for the tissue. This vitamin can be found in carrots, sweet potatoes, and eggs.

Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are a nutrient-rich in energy. It provides energy for the formation of the collagen and enhances the growth of fibroblast. Thus, it fastens the repairing of the tissues. Hence, sources rich in carbohydrates are pasta, oatmeal, and rice.

Fibre

Fibre is another nutrient you can take in if you need a quick and efficient repair of your damaged tissue. Further, along with others, fibre also fights inflammation, thus making the injury less painful. Foods that you can eat to obtain fibre are bananas, beans and legumes, apples, and bread.
