Do you have a difficult time making it through your obligations every day, let alone having enough energy at the end of them all to actually enjoy life? Would you give just about anything to get the stamina and endurance back that you had when you were younger?
The good news is that you can. In fact, here are seven simple things that you can do today to give your energy an immediate boost:
#1: Watch what you eat. The more simple carbs (cakes, cookies, crackers, chips and other types of junk food) you consume, the worse you’re going to feel. Fill up on body healthy lean proteins, fruits, veggies, low-fat dairy and complex carbs instead and you’ll feel like a whole new person – one with energy!
#2: Stay hydrated. If you don’t drink enough water for your body to function efficiently, you’ll wind up feeling fatigued. It’s easy enough to avoid this energy pitfall by making sure you drink 8-10 glasses daily. Always have a glass beside you so it’s there whenever you’re thirsty.
#3: Lose your emotional baggage. If life feels too heavy mentally, of course your energy is going to be low. It’s only natural. Decide to let go of the past and quit worrying about the future and you’ll feel as if a weight has been lifted instantly, leaving you to walk as if on air.
#4: Change up your routine. When you get stuck in a rut, life becomes dull and boring. And, when you’re bored, it’s hard to get excited about much. Switch up life a little bit and you’ll notice some of your energy return. Let go of habit and reach for spontaneity instead.
#5: Get active. The nice thing about being physically active is that it reenergizes you. It’s like how a car recharges its battery when you’re driving. Keep your internal battery running by committing to regular exercise and it will pay off – in energy.
#6: Plan an event. If you want to put some pep in your step, then you may want to give yourself something to look forward to. Plan something in the future that excites you. It can be as grand as a vacation to the tropics or as small as a potluck with friends. It doesn’t matter what it is as long as it’s something you want to do.
#7: Surround yourself with energy. When you just can’t seem to find the energy within yourself, sometimes you have to get it from elsewhere. It may be via music that invigorates you or positive friends that keep you going. Find energy in your environment and energy will find you.
Energy may be elusive at times, but it’s always within reach. You just have to know where to go to find it. Now that you do, it’s time to increase your levels and live life to the fullest. That’s what it’s about, isn’t it?
