Why We Love the Paleo Diet (And You Should Too!)

If you’ve been looking to lose some weight or improve your health, then it’s likely that you’ve at least heard about the paleo diet. If you’re not familiar with it, this is a diet that gets you back to eating the way our ancestors did years ago, which means that your menu will consist of lean meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds.

Based on what we’ve seen and learned about “going paleo,” we happen to love this particular diet and think you should too! Why?

The main reason we’re so pro-paleo is because it cuts out processed foods. This alone is majorly important because processed foods have been linked to auto-immune diseases like asthma, multiple sclerosis, eczema, and alopecia. But processing of foods has other negative effects as well. For instance, a lot of times it is the processing that reduces the nutritional value of the original food sources, which means that the foods vitamin and mineral content is reduced, or less healthy.

Additionally, they typically add salt and/or sugar to processed foods in order to make them tastier or store for longer periods. These are not only bad for your body, but both of these ingredients can inflate your feelings of hunger, making it harder for you to control your appetite.

And because paleo foods are in their original state, they have the highest nutrient content possible, which means that you’ll likely get all of the vitamins and minerals you need. This equates to fewer deficiency-related issues, resulting in a higher level of health overall.

It is reasons like these that we love the paleo diet and feel that you should too. If you’ve ever tried it and have noticed other benefits (in addition to these), feel free to add them below. We’d love to know what this way of eating has done to help you enhance your life!
